UNITED SCHOOLS ERASMUS+ PROJECT MOBILITY IN SLOVAKIA SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED

The first international student and teacher mobility within the “United Schools” Erasmus+ KA210-SCH project, carried out in partnership between Turkey, Slovakia, and North Macedonia, was successfully completed between 23–27 March 2026 in Piešťany, Slovakia. Hosted by Spojená škola Piešťany, this mobility was implemented with the active participation of all project partners within a comprehensive and productive programme.

On the first day of the mobility, participants were welcomed at the host school, and the project along with the mobility programme was introduced. Students from partner schools presented their institutions and cultures through presentations. One of the key topics of the programme, peer bullying, was addressed through presentations that increased students’ awareness by focusing on its types, causes, and solutions. On the same day, participants engaged in animotherapy activities (with a therapeutic dog) and hands-on workshops such as handmade paper production based on the “learning by doing” approach. Additionally, cultural activities including a visit to the honey production museum and a tour of Smolenice Castle were organized.

Throughout the programme, students worked in mixed-nationality groups and participated in teamwork-based activities. Through sports activities, music and art therapy sessions, students had the opportunity to improve their social skills while gaining experience in inclusion and collaborative learning. By using digital tools, students created posters and slogans focusing on solutions to peer bullying. As a result of group work, the foundation of an online booklet addressing peer bullying was established.

During the programme, teacher sessions were organized focusing on innovative and inclusive practices in special education (SEN). Partner countries shared best practices and exchanged knowledge on their educational systems. These contributions were compiled to be uploaded to the project’s e-learning platform. In addition, teachers collaboratively worked on planning and editing the online booklet as a project output.

Through school visits and guided tours, participants had the opportunity to observe different education systems and gain insights into SEN practices. Important locations such as the Piešťany Health Spa and the Balneology Museum were visited, and Slovak culture was experienced through workshops on preparing traditional food.

On the final day, a closing ceremony was held where Europass Mobility Certificates and participation certificates were awarded, along with the symbolic planting of a tree. The mobility concluded with an evaluation meeting and a farewell programme.

Thanks to this international mobility, students gained the opportunity to explore different cultures, improve their foreign language skills, and enhance their cooperation and communication competences. The project also contributed significantly to inclusion, digital skills, and social awareness.

It is aimed that the cooperation among partner institutions will continue to strengthen in the upcoming mobilities of the “United Schools” project.
